Why is Time so important? What is it that Time really defines? If you think about it, Time is never still, it always goes forward. Every second that passes us by doesn’t come back. We will never be where we were before. And yet we seem to underestimate Time sometimes or forget about it. You never actually think how important it is. But all we have and need is ‘Time’.
The problem in modern societies is where is our time being spent. What is it that we are most of our time doing? Unfortunately, for the majority of us, our time goes to our professional life and our obligations. But what about the time that we need for ourselves, our loved ones, our home, our enjoyment? This is our personal life. We don’t work to live anymore. We just live to work. There is no balance between the two anymore.
And as time goes by, our kids are growing up without us being there to see it. Our friendships grow apart because we don’t socialise as much anymore. Our mental health deteriorates because we don’t give any time to ourselves to disconnect and relax. Our physical health deteriorates because our mental health does. And sometimes you just wish there was more time, more hours in a day, but there aren’t. And we just grow older and we just let life slip through our fingers without properly living it.
We need to change that. We need to restore that balance where we can work and progress and do what we love but without having to sacrifice our loved ones and our general wellbeing for it. There has to be another way, where time is filled with beautiful memories and experiences, with smiles and nice conversations, with love and happiness! And when you look back one day you will know that you spent your time wisely, you didn’t waste it. No! You lived it! This is why time is so important… Because ‘Time’ is not just a clock that is ticking on the wall. It’s not just numbers that go by. ‘Time’ is ‘Life’!
‘Time is really the only capital that any human being has and the only thing he can’t afford to lose.’ – Thomas Edison
